1. What TA?
Ans - TA stands for Territorial Army.
2. What is criteria to be an officer in TA?
Ans - Only male citizens of India and Ex-service officers who are medically fit. Age – 18 to 42 years as on 30 Jun. Qualification – Graduate from any recognized university. Employment - Gainfully Employed in Central Govt/Semi Govt /Pvt Firm/ Own business.
3. What is terms and conditions for TA?
Ans - Commission is granted in the rank of Lieutenant.
4. What is training period?
Ans - One month basic training in the first year of commission.
5. I have tried for SSB THREE times and now I am overage. I had only one goal to be an Army Officer? What should I do now?
Ans - Dear Candidate, don’t be disappointed. You have still a chance to be an officer in Territorial Army.
You can apply till your 42 years of age.
6. What is the procedure for getting commissioned in Territorial Army?
Ans - All desirous civil candidates are required to obtain the form, from employment newspaper or download from www.indianarmy.gov.in and send it along with self addressed stamped envelope of 28 x12 cms size, two passport size photographs and postal stamps worth Rs.12/- affixed on envelop to their respective TA Group Headquarters as per the area given below: S No Zone State Examination centre To be fwd 01. 7. What is PIB?
Ans - PIB stands for Preliminary Interview Board. Candidates whose application forms found correct after scrutinisation, will be called for Preliminary Interview Board. Successful candidates Will further undergo Services Selection Board(SSB) and medical Board for finalization.
8. What is pay and allowances of TA Officer?
Ans - Pay and allowances are the same as serving Army Officers.
9. Can TA officer be converted in to Army as Permanent Commissioned Officer(PC)?
Ans - Depends upon existing vacancy and your performance report.
10. Can civil Employee be TA officer?
Ans - Yes, subject to one has to produce NOC from his organization.
